Glenn Renell
A landscape painter, Glenn resides and paints in the high desert of southeast Arizona between the Dragoon and Chiricahua mountains. Born in Maine and raised in New York, he attended Rhode Island School of Design, spent four years in the Navy and graduated from Fort Wright College with a BFA in painting in 1975. He went on to receive an MFA in painting from the University of Massachusetts in 1978. Glenn was an associate professor of painting, drawing and design at Maine College of Art from 1980 and leaving in 2001 to paint full time. Glenn’s work is represented in several galleries across the country and in many private corporate and public collections in this country and western Europe. Glenn has participated in the art in embassies program with work at the U. S. Embassy Athens, Greece for several years and in the permanent collection of the State Department. He has been awarded several residencies including MICA’s Chateau du Rochefort-en-Terre, Brittany, France, the MacNamara Foundation, Westport Island, Maine and Artist in Residence at Petrified Forest National Park.
Glenn is represented by Medicine Man Gallery in Tucson, Arizona; Greenhut Galleries in Portland, Maine; New Era Gallery in Vinalhaven, Maine; and Thunderbird Foundation in Mt Carmel, Utah.
